Golf Range Finders - Are They a Good Asset?

!±8± Golf Range Finders - Are They a Good Asset?

Golf range finders, there is a wide controversy raging about the use of range finders. Some schools of thought offer the opinion that they are holding up play too much, others say it speeds the game up. Then you have the golf purist who will never use any device which is seen to give advantage to his game on the grounds that it is like cheating.

You then have the golfer who believes any asset to help reduce a handicap should be used provided it is allowed by the world golf association. This brings up a very salient point, it is not every golf club that allows the use of range finders on the course, so it would be a good idea to ask before one starts the round of golf. If it is not allowed and the golfer is seen or reported to be using a range finder, then it is regarded as breaking protocol and club rules, this could result in the players score being disqualified for that round.

That would not be good, especially if the player is in a club competition, it could mean the difference between winning or losing. So if you do use a range finder in your game, do the right thing and check in the club house before you go out to play, and make sure that it is allowed.

The world of golfing equipment has changed so much in the last thirty years with so many innovations to drivers, irons, wedges putters and so on that golf courses seem to be getting shorter. So this makes knowing the distance from fairways to green essential, simply because clubs are now driving balls further than ever before.

This makes it much more difficult to know which iron to use for a particular shot. Of course if one has a range finder then this makes the decision easier and confirms what club is the best to use for a particular drive. The points to remember if one chooses to use a range finder are, make sure it is allowed by the club rules, and try not to take too long when finding the distance, as slow play is the worst thing to come up against on a golf course.

There are fantastic range finder products on the market, so if you wish to see some of the ranges then click on below now and view these and other products which can help you enjoy your game even more.
